Is the UK government really supporting our troops ?
The 2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment alone, have on this tour (since April 2008) sent back over 50 casualties to the UK and many cannot be accommodated so when all of the casualties from other battle groups are added to the figure, how is ONE ward in an NHS hospital going to cope? It cannot cope, the individual troops are sent home to recover relying on NHS visiting services which themselves are over committed.

It would be great to help our servicemen and women who give so much.

The UK already have a dedicated military hospital in Gosport, next to Portsmouth naval dockyard called Haslar. It's been there treating service personnel through war and peacetime for the past 250 years, it is estimated that there are some 10,000 war graves on the site, spanning back to the Napoleonic wars and beyond. It has been revered the world over as the best military hospital of its type.

The government are closing this hospital in 2009, it is rumoured that the land will be sold by the MOD for housing development !
